What we do, plainly
We help families with four things that tend to arrive at difficult moments: putting a plan in place before it is needed, administering an estate after a death, working out how to pay for long-term care, and pursuing compensation after a serious injury.
Where we are licensed
Our attorneys are admitted in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. We say that precisely because it matters: a firm advertising nationwide estate planning is either licensed in fifty states or is glossing over something. We advise on the law of the three states where we are admitted, and if you contact us from elsewhere we will tell you so and point you toward someone who can help.
How we charge
- Planning and probate work is a flat fee, quoted in writing before any drafting or filing begins. You know the price before you commit.
- Injury cases are contingency fee. Our fee is an agreed percentage of what we recover, and nothing if we recover nothing.
- Initial consultations are free and carry no obligation.
- We sell no financial products and receive no commissions from anyone. Our fee is our only compensation, which is what allows us to tell you that a product you have been pitched is wrong for you.
What you can expect from us
-
A reply within one business day
Every enquiry gets a human response. If we cannot help, we say so quickly rather than leaving you waiting.
-
Plain language, not legalese
You will not sign a document we have not walked you through in language you can repeat to your family.
-
An honest assessment
Sometimes the right advice is that you do not need a lawyer, or that little can be protected. We would rather tell you that than take a fee for it.
-
The same people, throughout
You will know who is handling your matter and how to reach them.
Our attorneys
Every attorney profile lists the states they are admitted in, the year of admission, and their bar number, so you can verify their standing directly with the relevant state bar. We think you should be able to do that for any lawyer you are considering.
